Analysis:

When Pozzobon was a little girl, her aunt — and mentor — gave her a dream box and told her to write down a goal on a piece of paper and hold onto it. From then on, she closed that box and went to work.

Last year, Pozzobon and her buckskin mare Ripp had an amazing season that culminated in a Canadian barrel racing title. A dream come true for so many, including the British Columbia cowgirl, but she wasn’t done yet.

The duo had another stellar season in 2018. The mare that could snap back around a barrel almost as fast as Pozzobon can lift her leg to get around it earned over $44,000 in the Canadian Standings to unofficially finish the season nearly $13,000 ahead of the No. 2 cowgirl.

She didn’t stop there, though. By September 30 Pozzobon could officially say she had qualified for the Super Bowl of rodeo as one of the top 15 barrel racers in the world.

“Now if I wasn’t in my trailer on the road I would show you all I still have that little box and the paper inside,” Pozzobon explained in a Facebook post. “Well the dream I wrote down on that piece of paper says; to make the NFR on a horse I trained myself.”

Mission accomplished.
