Clay Elliott Recovering From Surgery After Neck Fracture At Guymon
Clay Elliott is now recovering from surgery after he sustained a cervical spinal fracture at the Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo.
Two-time Canadian champion and three-time National Finals Rodeo saddle bronc riding qualifier Clay Elliott is now recovering from surgery after he sustained a cervical spinal fracture at the Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo. During the May 3 performance, Elliott was bucked off of Frontier Rodeo’s Delta Force, landing on his head and fracturing his neck.
Elliott was sent to the Swedish Medical Hospital in Denver, where he underwent surgery on May 4.
“He had a cervical spine fracture that was stabilized with surgery,” Rick Foster, program director for the Justin Sports Medicine Team said in a PRCA news release. “The surgery went well, and the prognosis is good for a full recovery. Hopefully, he will be released from the hospital on Tuesday [May 7].”
The PRCA release stated that Elliott will be out of action indefinitely. Once more information is available on his condition post-surgery, we will release it.
