She says it was a technique she learned from riding futurity colts. Check out Carman Pozzobon lift her foot to get around the barrel at the Strathmore Stampede to win the rodeo. She came in with a time of 17.199 and added a big check to her eventual season victory.
Callahan Crossley has been on a mission to make her third Canadian Finals Rodeo all year long. In fact, that mission even began last year at the Agribition Pro Rodeo in Regina, Saskatchewan with this round one winning run. Crossley stopped the clock at 13.987 seconds and collected her first check towards qualifying for the 2018 CFR.
Angela Ganter dominated the Grass Roots Final this year to say the least. Ganter won both rounds of the final, including making the fastest run of the finals in round two with this 15.774 second run.
Scott Schiffner may be retiring after the 2018 Canadian Finals Rodeo, but we have video evidence that this two-time Canadian champion bull rider isn’t slowing down. Bareback rider Ty Taypotat has been having one heck of a year. The Saskatchewan cowboy has been healthy, and collecting checks left and right in 2018. So it makes us wonder: Could this be the year he wins the Canadian title?
There aren’t many bareback riders out there with the style and toe-turning out ability of Jake Vold. He showed us that signature style with this 87-point ride at the Amrstrong IPE and Stampede.
Rookie CPRA barrel racer Justine Elliott has been proving she doesn’t need experience to win big checks in 2018. Those checks included this 15.953 second effort at Armstrong to win second in the long round and over $3,000. The win was a big part of her securing her first trip to the Canadian Finals Rodeo. She will make her debut at the finals when it makes it’s debut in the city of Red Deer, Alberta.
This pair straight-up dominated the 2018 CPRA season in the CPRA. Not only are Denver Johnson and Tristin Woolsey heading to their first Canadian Finals Rodeo, but they’re also going there as the No. 1 team in Canada - thanks in part to this 5.3 second run to win the Ponoka Stampede.
Clay Elliott has been conquering some of the rankest bucking horses around this year. This 87-point ride aboard C5 Rodeo’s High Valley was just one example of all the great rides he made this year on the way to his season leader title in the CPRA and another WNFR qualification.
