Senior team ropers Jordan Hanna and Cole Thomas had to make a run to get past the top two teams leading the way in the aggregate at the 2017 National Little Britches Rodeo Association Finals short round. They made that run to the tune of 5.92 seconds and, when the top two teams didn’t have any luck, were able to win the aggregate with a time of 20.62 on three.
Stevi Hillman was a little worried about her last run at the 2018 Ponoka Stampede. After a grueling few days of rodeo, Hillman had to make back-to-back runs on the final day of the rodeo between the finals and the showdown. She had won round one and the aggregate, but she was worried about her horse becoming “tight” for the final run she had to make to take home the title.

“If you’re in Ponoka and you have to ride against Jake Vold, you better have Virgil,” said Richmond Champion, the 2018 Ponoka Stampede bareback riding winner. Champion took home $12,948 throughout the week at the Ponoka Stampede, including winning the showdown round with his 91.25-point ride aboard the 2017 PRCA bareback horse of the year, C5 Rodeo’s Virgil.

Rio Flaharty turned in the fastest time of the 2017 International Finals Youth Rodeo at 16.441, but average leader Elizabeth Broussard was not shaken by Flaharty’s smokin’ fast run. Broussard turned in a time of 16.513 to win the average and the 2017 IFYR barrel racing title.
